Did you know that recently we were asked to quote for a roof we wouldn’t repair?!!

Why Wouldn’t We Repair A Roof?

Very occasionally we won’t do work on a roof. This is only in the case that we think it is in the customer’s best interests. We have a strict policy of only undertaking work we know we can guarantee and that will solve your roofing problems. It is important to us that our customers always get value for money. We are sure you will agree in these difficult times this is more important than ever.

A Flat Roof That We Wouldn’t Repair

An example of this is a flat roof that we were asked to quote for. The owner informed us that the intention was to place solar panels on the flat roof after this was repaired. On further enquiry, the customer advised that it was their intention to screw the fixings into the repaired flat roof.

We explained to the customer that the purpose of repairing a flat roof is to provide an impermeable sealed membrane without any holes at all. This would be the case regardless of whether it was a EPDM rubber roof or felted flat roof. Any screws would place holes in the membrane which could then allow water ingress. In this situation, we would be unable to guarantee the roof would remain watertight.

We Declined The Work

We are very sorry that the customer was unhappy about this, however, we will never undertake work we cannot guarantee.
