A lead valley repair was required for this extremely old property. The property is an old vicarage located in Chirk.

As you can see from the photographs the leadwork was split and tiles were missing. When a lead valley is in such poor repair, it is likely to result in water ingress. Therefore we recommend a prompt repair.

In this instance we did not need to undertake a full replacement roof, thereby saving money.

Lead Valley In Need of Repair
Before Repair

Prepare for Valley Repair

In a job like this, the first job is to strip back existing slate tiles and keep them safe for reuse later on.

Next, we remove old decaying leadwork.

Replace New Where Needed and Recycle When Possible

We install new lead along the full length of the valley roof. Next, we replace the slate tiles. We are able to source matching new tiles to replace those lost over time.

A New Lead Valley That Looks Old

As you can see, the roof is tidy and watertight, yet still looks traditional and in keeping with the rest of the property. This part of the property will now stay watertight for years to come therefore our customer will have peace of mind when it rains.
