Scaffolding Installed At The Bungalow
You may wonder why scaffolding is a requirement for a roof at single storey. In fact, a fall from a relatively small height can cause serious injury to a worker. When installing a completely new roof we move a lot of materials around and spend a lot of time on the roof. Therefore, to work on a whole roof, scaffolding is always a requirement for us.
Old Roof Materials Removed
Our first task is to remove all old tiles that we throw away into a skip on site. Next, we remove old felt and battens and discard them because they are no longer fit for purpose. All materials we discard, we deal with in the most ecologically viable way.
New Roof Materials Installed
On this roof, we were able to supply and fit new pressure-treated battens. The battens are pressure-treated to ensure a long life. We also install breathable felt, which results in less condensation and a dryer loft space. The next part of the process is installing new eaves trays. Finally, we re-tile with new Marley tiles with new verge caps. In this instance, we installed a dry ridge system because this has a longer life.
A Brand New Bungalow Roof
This bungalow now has a brand new roof which will last for many years to come. The dry ridge system is an excellent choice instead of cement because it allows the roof to flex and contract depending on the outdoor temperature.
