This roof repair in Whittington at a beautiful canalside house is now complete. Unfortunately, our client experienced water ingress through the pitched slate roof. This was damaging her beautiful kitchen beneath. Therefore quick action was required.
On examination of the dormer window above, we discovered the flashings badly in need of repair and therefore causing the water ingress.
Scaffolding Required to Complete Roof Repair
The photographs show us halfway through the job. Scaffolding is required to reach a dormer window over a pitched roof. The Velux windows also require careful attention. It is extremely important to seal the roof correctly around them.
Initially, we remove all slates. The roof then has new felt and batton added. The felt is red in the pictures. You may notice covers over two items on the roof. This is a temporary cover over the two Velux windows. Prior to tiling flashing is placed around the windows. This ensures a watertight seal.
